I offer independent midwifery care for pregnancy and the early weeks with your baby, for those who want to feel listened to, supported, and respected as active participants in their care.
My approach is gentle, evidence-informed, and grounded in relationship. I offer time, continuity, and space to talk things through — so decisions aren’t rushed, and your care can unfold in a way that feels right for you.
My Services
A note on birth attendance
At present, I am not offering care during labour and birth. I am happy to support you during pregnancy, with birth preparation, and in the postnatal period alongside other care providers, and to help you think through options that align with your values and circumstances.
Please note that due to insurance limitations I cannot offer visit or advice when you are in early labour.
“Megan, thank you for your care, kindness and support. You truly had my best interests at the centre of everything’ - B & k.

Antenatal care is offered on a one-to-one basis, with longer appointments that allow for both clinical care and meaningful conversation. Alongside routine checks and monitoring, antenatal appointments can include birth preparation and body-based support, with space to:
· explore your options for labour and birth
· make sense of evidence and recommendations
· talk through hopes, worries, or previous experiences
· support optimal positioning and movement using biomechanics
· learn practical ways to work with your body during pregnancy and birth
· prepare emotionally and physically for birth and early parenthood
· build confidence in your own knowledge, instincts, and embodied awareness
-
The postnatal period is a time of enormous change, and support during this stage matters. Postnatal visits are calm, unhurried, and centred on both you and your baby. Support may include:
physical recovery and wellbeing
newborn checks
infant feeding support
emotional wellbeing and adjustment
gentle guidance as you find your rhythm as a new family
Visits take place in your own home, allowing care to happen in a familiar and settled environment.

I offer the Newborn Infant Physical Examination in the comfort of your own home within 72 hours of birth. This is a thorough head-to-toe examination of your baby including screening of their eyes, heart, hips, and testes (if a male infant). Time is taken to explain what I’m checking, answer questions, and ensure you feel informed and reassured.
-
I offer the Newborn Blood Spot Test (heel prick screening) at home, when your baby is five days old. This screens for 10 rare conditions. I aim to carry this out as gently and calmly as possible, with clear explanation and plenty of time, so the experience feels supported rather than rushed.
-
If you’re not looking for ongoing care, you’re welcome to book a one-off appointment. These are unrushed and completely flexible to your needs.
These sessions can be used for:
antenatal or postnatal check-ups
birth preparation
feeding support
talking through options or decisions
This can be a helpful way to access independent midwifery support when you need it most.
Next steps
If you’re considering working together, the first step is an initial conversation. This gives us both the opportunity to see whether my care feels like the right fit for you.
You’re welcome to get in touch with questions, or simply to talk things through.
